The Clinical Scientist Training Program (CSTP) at Baylor provides
multidisciplinary didactic training for clinical researchers.
The first campus wide core course of the CSTP curriculum was offered in July,
1999. This is an introductory course entitled Fundamentals of Clinical
Investigation. This is an ideal course for clinical fellows, post-doctoral
fellows, junior faculty and other individuals who may wish to participate
subsequently in the degree granting aspects of the CSTP.

CSTP will offer Ph.D. and M.S. through the Graduate School of Biomedical
Sciences and a Certificate in Added Qualification (CAQ) to accommodate students
with diverse clinical research interests and varying time availabilities:
Ph.D. in Clinical Investigation
Targeted towards individuals with a significant commitment to clinical research. In addition to fulfilling the didactic requirements of the degree (see details under Degree Granting section), the students will be required to develop a full K-23 research proposal and an RO1 proposal as part of their mentored research experience.
Targeted towards individuals who have an interest in clinical research, and are willing to make a commitment to the program. In addition to fulfilling the didactic requirements of the degree (see details under Degree Requirement), the student will be required to develop a thesis acceptable to the Thesis Advisory Committee following guidelines established by the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
Targeted towards individuals who are interested in an introduction to clinical research with out the time commitment for an in-depth study of clinical investigation.
