The University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy invites
applications for the position of Director of Pharmacy Practice Skills
Laboratories, a 12-month non-tenure-track faculty position. The
individual selected will be responsible for developing, coordinating,
and administering a 5-quarter sequence of Pharmacy Practice Skills
Laboratories.
The Pharmacy Practice Skills Laboratories are a required curricular
component in each of the first three years of the Professional
Program. The laboratories are designed to foster the development of
pharmacy practice skills while providing the student with an
opportunity to apply pharmaceutical knowledge to patient care
activities. Learning is facilitated primarily through small group
activities, making the newly-renovated laboratory an excellent venue
for the application of innovative teaching and learning methodologies.
This position requires a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, knowledge of
the philosophy and practices of pharmaceutical care, previous teaching
and clinical practice experience, and qualifications for licensure in
the state of Ohio. The successful candidate should have excellent
communication and organizational skills with considerable experience
in the direct management of patients. The individual will work with
the chair of the Division of Pharmacy Practice to coordinate the
activities of the faculty in the laboratory to ensure that the
learning objectives of the laboratory sequence are met.
The primary responsibilities of this position are administrative
(40%) and teaching-related (30%), however, and opportunity for
contribution in scholarly activity and professional practice also
exists. The successful candidate reports to the Assistant Dean for
Clinical and External Affairs for the administrative aspects of this
position.
