This site has been designed to allow the search of multiple genomic databases without having to bounce all over the web. These searches do not allow all of the more complex searching available at the specific sites. Rather, this site is useful for getting the 'gist' of a gene or marker and to identify databases which contain information on the gene or marker of interest. Gene data is not currently limited to any organism. The marker data is essentially human only.

To use this site, first type the name of the gene of interest in the above frame. Then press the button corresponding to the genomic database you wish to search. The site will be queried, and the information will appear in the lower frame. Pressing the Return key, instead of clicking on a button will not work. To search information on markers, press the "Markers" button in the top frame and follow the above protocol. Also, to return to this screen at any time, just press the "Home" button. To return to the Gene searches, press the "Genes" button on the upper frame. Additional information, including information on search parameters for the databases/archives, is available on the HELP page. If you would like to look for human data only, click on "Human Only" below. You can also access the Marker page below.

*Search Tips* To search for a gene by it's symbol, type the symbol in the box marked "Enter Here." To search for a gene by it's name, type the name in the box marked "Enter Here" using "+" symbols in place of spaces to separate words. Some search engines omit additional words from a search without + symbols, but this problem is being rectified.

Example: "APOA2" or "Apolipoprotein+A2" not "Apoliprotein A2"
